11TH Annual Kaiser Permanente Avenue of the Vines raises $25,000 for area food banks
Kaiser Permanente once again served as the title sponsor for the Kaiser Permanente Avenue of the Vines Half Marathon and 5K, held May 21, 2017 in Lodi.
The event, in its 11th year, continues to attract a growing number of runners from all over California and other western states. More than 1,000 participants enjoyed the flat and scenic course through the Lodi vineyards.
This year’s race earned $25,000 for the Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/San Joaquin (EFB), which provides daily food assistance to more than 275 households in our communities. Since 2006, the event has raised more than $225,000 for local charities.
“We’re very proud to work with Fleet Feet Sports and Woodbridge Winery to make this event possible,” said Jonathan Watkins, KP’s Chief Operating Officer. “Not only does it support a worthy organization, but it gives an opportunity for our community to engage in healthy exercise — what more could you ask for in an event?”
