Central Valley Area breast cancer center earns national accreditation
Kaiser Permanente’s Central Valley Area has earned a prestigious three-year accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), administered by the American College of Surgeons.
To get the NAPBC accreditation, Kaiser Permanente underwent a rigorous evaluation process and review of its performance, while demonstrating its commitment to provide the highest level of quality breast care to Central Valley Area members.
“Kaiser Permanente is well-equipped to meet the exacting standards established by the NAPBC for diagnosing and treating the full spectrum of breast disease,” said Megumi Tomita, MD, Chief of Oncology in the Central Valley. “Our team-based approach brings together the expertise of many knowledgeable and compassionate providers, who are driven to give our patients the best possible care while at our facilities.”
As one of the only NAPBC-accredited breast centers in our two-county area, Kaiser Permanente patients receive:
- Comprehensive care, including a full-range of state-of-the-art services
- A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment
- Information and access to ongoing clinical trials and new care options
Women with suspicious findings or new breast problems usually can be seen for multiple exams and tests in the same day. In many cases, they can leave knowing their outcome without weeks of worry.
“Our greatest wish is for our members to stay healthy, but when something happens, we are here to meet their needs,” Dr. Tomita said.
All breast care services are by physician referral only. For more information, contact Cathy Osnaya, RN, Breast Care Coordinator in the Central Valley, at (209) 735-6253.
