Stockton has a great new destination for quality care
Starting May 1, 2016, St. Joseph’s Medical Center is the Stockton plan hospital for Kaiser Permanente members.
Dignity Health and Kaiser Permanente are joining forces to meet the health care needs of the Stockton community. Starting May 1, 2016, St. Joseph’s Medical Center is the Stockton plan hospital for Kaiser Permanente members who will have access to St. Joseph’s Medical Center emergency services, and other hospital services recommended by their doctor, including labor and delivery.
“Both St. Joseph’s Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente have a long and proud record of service to the Stockton-San Joaquin area, and we believe this is a great opportunity to work together to provide high-quality affordable care,” said Kaiser Permanente Senior Vice President and Area Manager Deborah Friberg.
In anticipation of future growth, St. Joseph’s has already begun expanding the Emergency Department, doubling its size to 8,000 square feet and adding 24 beds. Further expansion planned for the next few years includes:
- Maternity — 10 additional rooms for a total of 30
- Labor/delivery — 1 additional room for a total of 9
- Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) — 8 additional beds for a total of 30
- Cardiac services — advanced catheterization lab/cardiac surgical capabilities
With the addition of St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente now has the following network of Plan hospitals in the Central Valley Area that are available to provide emergency and hospital services to our members in the Central Valley:
