Know Before You Go
Please review the information below. Understanding the information below can help improve your care experience.
All available lab tests that your provider has ordered for you can be viewed on kp.org. If you believe an order is missing, you can message your doctor from kp.org or call the call center at 925-295-4070 to send a message regarding the missing order.
- View your upcoming tests and procedures Note: You must sign-in to kp.org to review this information. Once signed-in, you will be redirected to your upcoming tests and procedures.
Depending on your health plan, a copay may be required or you may receive a bill after your visit. Please note, while labs associated with preventive services do not require a copay, your doctor may order other labs as part of a preventive visit that do require a copay. If you have questions about any payment or bill associated with your lab test, please contact member services at 1-800-464-4000.
Prepare for your lab draw by:
- Bringing Photo Identification
- Bringing Kaiser Medical Record Number
- Drinking Water: Unless otherwise advised by your provider, water is encouraged prior to the test as staying hydrated can help make lab draws or urine collection easier.
If your doctor has advised that you need a fasting test, please do the following:
- Do not eat for 12 hours prior to the test
- Continue to take medications as prescribed by your provider
- Unless otherwise advised by your doctor, continue to drink water prior to the test to ensure you are not dehydrated for the blood draw
If it is possible to bring your child to a site that has lab appointments, making an appointment offers convenience and a faster lab experience for your child.
Some of our DSA Lab locations have pediatric or infant draw rooms that offer a private space for you and your infant/child during their lab draw. If you are interested in using one of these rooms during your visit, feel free to advise staff at the following locations:
- Infant Draw Room: The Delta Fair Medical Offices‘ infant draw room allows infants up to 1 month old to be drawn using a heel stick
- Pediatric Draw Room: The following sites have pediatric draw rooms that allow infants and children up to 5 years old to be drawn in a separate space:

As you walk into the lab waiting area, locate the grey Q-matic kiosk near the entrance.

If you have booked a lab appointment, touch the blue pre-scheduled lab appointment box on the screen. If you do not have a lab appointment, touch the green “Walk-In” box.

Take your ticket from the ticket slot in the center below the screen.

If you selected Walk-In, your ticket will state “Lab Check In Standard”.
