Audiology
Audiology is a discipline dealing with the ear and hearing. We work closely with the Head and Neck Surgery Department and the Internal Medicine Department, providing hearing tests, evaluations of the middle and inner ear, and aural rehabilitation. We make recommendations regarding hearing aids, assistive listening devices, cochlear implants, musician’s earplugs, and other devices. We are staffed by licensed dispensing audiologists who are fully trained to dispense, adjust, and repair a wide variety of hearing aid models. We use state of the art fitting and verification equipment to optimize the fitting of hearing aids.
About hearing loss
Hearing loss affects more than 28 million people of all ages around the country. If you have hearing loss, a hearing aid may help you capture everyday sounds you are now missing and help eliminate frustration you feel when you can’t catch all of a conversation. Do people seem like they mumble when they speak? Do people complain that your TV is too loud? If “yes” you may need a hearing test.
