Pulmonary & Critical Care
Pulmonology is a subspecialty within the Department of Medicine, which is dedicated to ensuring excellence and consistency in critical care medicine and caring for patients with chronic lung problems. The pulmonologist provides life-sustaining care to some of the most chronically and critically ill patients in both our San Leandro and Fremont campuses.
Our pulmonologists enhance the lives of patients with abnormal chest x-rays, asthma, chronic coughs, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and Interstitial Lung Disease. A pulmonologist can also help people with sleep disorders.
Our physicians work in collaboration with specially trained medical assistants, respiratory care practitioners, nurses, social workers and dietitians who are committed to providing the highest quality of care and service to meet the needs of our patients. Pulmonary Medicine is a referral-only department.
