Spiritual Care
Welcome to Spiritual Care Services
As partners in healing, Spiritual Care Services provides spiritual and emotional support. We engage and advocate for the full expression of your experience and spiritual wellbeing; in health as well as in illness. We respect and invite the inner lives and belief systems of all patients, families, visitors, staff and the greater community.
Chaplains are here to accompany you when:
- you need compassionate support and someone to listen
- you seek a kind hearted conversation about fear, hope, faith, peace, or healing
- you are facing a serious illness or difficult healthcare decision
- you desire prayer or ritual
- you are considering an ethical or moral dilemma
- you are grieving the loss of a loved one
Our chaplains
Our clinically trained healthcare chaplains serve as members of your healthcare team. They specialize in providing spiritual care to people of all traditions, cultures, and beliefs. If requested, they can also help connect you with clergy or other religious leaders in the community.
Visit the Prayer/Meditation Room
Located on the second floor of the main hospital near the intensive care units in the Fremont and San Leandro hospitals, the Prayer/Meditation Rooms are peaceful places to reflect, meditate and pray. They contain sacred writings and prayer books of several traditions.
