You’re jogging, trip on uneven pavement, and take a spill. You land on your wrist and think it may be sprained. While you might want to rush to the emergency room, you can actually go to urgent care — and save time and money.1,2

Urgent care is available at our Hayward–Sleepy Hollow Medical Offices and San Leandro Medical Center, 7 days a week, along with lab, imaging, and pharmacy services.

Go to Urgent Care for Minor Injuries and Illnesses

Here are a few examples of conditions that can be treated in urgent care:

    • Sore throats, severe coughs, and upper-respiratory symptoms
    • Minor wounds and cuts
    • Minor injuries like sprains and falls

You’ll usually get care faster than if you went to the emergency department, which treats seriously injured and sick patients before nonemergency patients.

  1. An urgent care need is one that requires prompt medical attention, usually within 24 or 48 hours, but is not an emergency medical condition. This can include minor injuries, backaches, sore throats, coughs, upper respiratory symptoms, and frequent urination or a burning sensation when urinating.
