Fremont and San Leandro Medical Centers Among Safest Hospitals Nationwide

The Fremont and San Leandro Medical Centers were among the 16 Kaiser Permanente hospitals in Northern California to be honored with an “A” Hospital Safety Score by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits.

Our two medical centers were among the 832 hospitals around the country that received the top grade in the safety report, which examined the records of more than 2,600 hospitals in the U.S. Learn more.

Fremont Medical Center Recognized for Nursing Quality and Patient Safety

The Fremont Medical Center was honored with two Performance Excellence Awards from CALNOC (Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes) for “Best Performance in Preventing Hospital Acquired Infections” and “Best Performance in Preventing Hospital Acquired Pressure Injuries.” This recognition reflects our medical center’s commitment and dedication to nursing quality and patient safety.

CALNOC is the leading provider of actionable information and research on nursing sensitive quality indicators. Hundreds of leading hospitals, including Kaiser Permanente, have joined CALNOC to monitor and benchmark performance in order to deliver excellence in patient care.

 

Farmers Markets Winter Break Closures

Reminder – our farmers markets will be closed during the winter as follows:

  • Fremont Farmers Market: Closed December 20 and December 27. Reopens January 3, 2019
  • San Leandro Farmers Market: Closed December 26 and January 2. Reopens on January 9, 2019
  • Union City MOB Farmers Market: Closed. Returns in Spring 2019.

Fremont and San Leandro Medical Centers Earn Prestigious National Cancer Center Accreditation

Our cancer programs in Fremont and San Leandro have received three-year accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and will be designated as Comprehensive Community Cancer Programs. The Fremont Medical Center achieved Silver Level accreditation with four commendations and the San Leandro Medical Center achieved Bronze Level accreditation with three commendations, both with no contingencies.

San Leandro and Fremont join 11 other Kaiser Permanente Northern California medical centers that have earned accreditation, including Antioch, Oakland, Roseville, Sacramento, Santa Clara, San Francisco, San Jose, South Sacramento, Vacaville, Vallejo, and Walnut Creek. Read more.

Flu Information Update

A large number of people are experiencing flu-like symptoms in Northern California.  If you think you are in need of medical attention, you may be able to avoid wait time by making medical appointments online.
