Kaiser Permanente Celebrates Life and Cancer Survivors
Nearly 300 members of the community – many of them cancer survivors – joined Kaiser Permanente for the 3rd Annual Celebrate Life event on Saturday, June 25 at Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center.
The day was full of celebration, and of many information sessions and resources that were focused on living – and thriving – after cancer.
The highlight of the morning was an appearance by Ernie Bodai, MD, Director of the Breast Cancer Survivors Clinic at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, and creator of the US Postal Service Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp that has sold more than 1 Billion copies and has raised nearly $100 million for cancer research.
“Each year, this event gets bigger and bigger, which is a good sign that more people are surviving — and thriving – after cancer,” said Steven Stricker, MD, Physician in Chief for Kaiser Permanente Napa-Solano Area. “This year we were honored to have Dr. Bodai, a leader in the fight against breast cancer, speak at our event.”
