Vacaville Police Department Unveils New Mobile Incident Command Center
Kaiser Permanente was pleased recently to partner with the Vacaville Police Department to unveil its new mobile incident command center (MICC) designed to allow law enforcement to effectively respond to and manage major disasters and critical incidents in Vacaville.
The new MICC was purchased through internal alternative funding sources at no cost to the public. The upfitting of the vehicle from a civilian Class A RV to a Police MICC was accomplished through a $53,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente.
The new MICC is a 36-foot Winnebago Adventure Class A motorhome. It replaces the previous MICC, a 2002 Fifth Wheel, which had reached the end of its life, and was experiencing several maintenance issues. The new MICC is also drivable, allowing the department to replace an aging 1991 Ford truck that was required to pull the Fifth Wheel. Here are some clips from the event:
