Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Thousands of Kaiser Permanente employees took time recently to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., by rolling up their sleeves and getting to work at schools, community centers and other sites across northern California. Here in the Napa-Solano Area, the work began with a prep day on Saturday, Jan. 13 and continued on Monday, Jan. 15 as approximately 150 Kaiser Permanente staff, physicians and their families from the Napa-Solano Area partnered with Rebuilding Together and school staff at Highland Elementary School in Vallejo to paint, garden, and beautify the teacher’s lounge.
This is the eighth year that Kaiser Permanente has collaborated with Rebuilding Together Solano County, a nonprofit organization focused on assisting low-income seniors and community facilities needing healthcare assistance, safety repairs and other rehabilitation work.
“Kaiser Permanente is dedicated to improving the health of our communities,” said Nor Jemjemian, Senior Vice President and Area Manager for Kaiser Permanente in the Napa-Solano Area. “When our employees, staff and physicians come together with community members to make our neighborhoods even better, we are truly honoring the legacy of Dr. King.”
