Kaiser Permanente Opens Mental Health, Wellness Center
Facility in Fairfield will serve Solano and Napa counties
Fairfield, CA, February 20, 2019 – Kaiser Permanente is expanding access to high-quality mental health and wellness care with the recent opening of a new site in Fairfield.
The Kaiser Permanente Fairfield Mental Health and Wellness Center, located at 520 Chadbourne, is the latest addition to Kaiser Permanente’s $175 million investment to build new care sites and refurbish others across Northern California, all with the goal of providing high-quality mental health care in an environment that offers patients convenience, comfort and privacy.
“This center is dedicated to treating those in our local community,” said Dr. Chris Walker, physician-in-chief for Kaiser Permanente’s Napa Solano Area, during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Feb. 12. “Community awareness of mental health and wellness issues has never been stronger. Our integrated model of care will provide accessible, comprehensive mental health care not only to adults, but to children, too. Our goal is to be ahead of the curve, working proactively with patients before mental health challenges become overwhelming for our patients and their loved ones.”
The nearly 28,000 square foot center was designed with the local community in mind, with soothing paint colors, natural light, and art inspired from the local agricultural landscape with grapevines and windmills.
The center also has LED lighting, energy efficient power outlets that cycle off after hours and is equipped for video visits as well as technology that connects translators via tablets to patients in more than two dozen languages.
The center has 37 provider offices and is opening with a full spectrum of programs. The Addiction Medicine Program will serve adults and adolescents and include a family support component; group therapies will address issues like postpartum depression and eating disorders; and a pediatric program will help elementary and teenage students and their families with diagnoses like ADD, as well as anxiety and stress. An Intensive Outpatient Program is also planned for the future to help those with the highest need for care or those just transitioning out of the hospital.
The center is also home to a triage center where patients can call or walk-in and be evaluated and then helped with a treatment plan to best meet their needs and schedule.
“This center helps reduce the stigma associated with mental health care,” said Nor Jemjemian, senior vice president for Kaiser Permanente’s Napa Solano Area. “We want to ensure that our patients are just as comfortable seeing providers for their emotional wellness needs as they are seeing their doctor for a fever or a cough. This center will support the emotional and holistic needs of our members as they arise.”
The Kaiser Permanente Fairfield Mental Health and Wellness Center is located in the Busch Campus Park, near Interstate 80. The location allows convenient, accessible and effective treatment in an outpatient setting and complements the services offered at the Vacaville and Vallejo Medical Centers and Fairfield Medical Offices.
The Kaiser Permanente Fairfield Mental Health and Wellness Center opened February 19, 2019.
