About Kaiser Permanente San Rafael
Established in 1976 in Terra Linda, San Rafael, our medical center has steadily grown to serve over 100,000 members, spanning an area stretching from the Golden Gate Bridge to Petaluma.
Our Story
It was 1958 . . . a small group of our physicians began practicing on Fourth Street, in San Rafael, hospitalizing their patients at the San Francisco Kaiser on Geary Street. In 1966, we purchased the former Terra Linda Valley Convalescent Hospital at 99 Montecillo Road.
In the Community
Healthy Marin Partnership (HMP) was established in 1995 to complete a triennial community health needs assessment (CHNA) required of all not-for-profit hospitals by the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development.
