Healthy Breakfast
Breakfast is often called the most important meal of the day, and there are good reasons for that. Eating breakfast benefits both adults and children in many ways. Eating breakfast provides energy for your day, cultivates a healthy eating pattern, helps you be better at work or school, and has many nutritional benefits.
MONDAY
Whole Wheat English muffin with 1 tbsp of peanut butter
1 cup of 1% or skim milk
1 small banana
TUESDAY
Small bagel with 1 tbsp of low-fat cream cheese or top with 1/4 cup cottage cheese
1 cup of low-fat yogurt
WEDNESDAY
1 cup of cooked cut oats with 1 cup of berries or other small fruit
1 cup of 1% or skim milk
THURSDAY
1 cup of low fat yogurt
1 cup up peach or other small fruit
1/4 cup of low fat granola cereal or whole grain cereal
FRIDAY
Blend 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 3/4 cup cup up fruits or berries, and 1/3 cup of quick oats to make a delicious smoothie
SATURDAY
2 Whole Wheat waffles topped with 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 1/2 cup of sliced fresh fruit
1 cup of 1% or skim milk
SUNDAY
2 small pancakes topped with 1/2 cup of sliced fruit
1 scrambled egg
1 cup of 1% or skim milk
