Completion of your treatment for cancer is a time for both celebration and reflection. You have joined over 13 million cancer survivors in the U.S. and this number is expected to grow to nearly 18 million by 2022 (American Cancer Society, 2012). However, the end of your treatment does not necessarily mean the end of the cancer experience. This can be a time to look forward and plan the next steps in your survivorship.
To help you begin your journey as a cancer survivor, we would like to guide you to two cancer survivorship websites. These sites provide valuable information about the role nutrition plays in your lifestyle after cancer treatment, including prevention from recurrence and from development of a second type of cancer.
We also strongly recommend that you go back to your primary care physician and discuss a long-term health care plan.
