Kaiser Permanente is committed to the safety of our members, patients, and visitors while at our facilities.

Due to the increased prevalence of influenza in our region, we will be implementing our flu season visitor policy at our Manteca and Modesto hospitals beginning Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020. At that time, hospital visitors will be limited to persons over 14 years of age, and those without visible cold or flu symptoms.The restrictions will remain in effect until the end of flu season, and do not apply to our outpatient medical office buildings.

Hospital patients are among those at the highest risk of catching influenza, and the disease can be deadly to the elderly, the very young, and those with compromised immune systems. Children 14 and younger are less likely to practice proper hand hygiene, or to indicate when they are feeling sick, especially early in the illness when it is most contagious.

Children 14 and younger may remain under adult supervision in one of our family waiting lounges, or in public areas of the facility, such as our cafeterias or lobbies.

Protect yourself this flu season! Flu shots are still available at no cost to Kaiser Permanente members – contact your primary doctor, or visit any of our Injection Clinics (no appointment is needed). To reduce your risk of catching the flu or cold, wash your hands often, cover your coughs, and get plenty of rest.

Kaiser Permanente is currently accepting applications for its student internship program, KP LAUNCH, for Summer 2020 positions.

KP LAUNCH offers full-time, 8-week paid internship opportunities to high school and college students at Kaiser Permanente medical facilities in Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties. Priority is given to underrepresented and low-income individuals with diverse backgrounds who are interested in a career in health care.

The application window is now open for the KP LAUNCH College Program. Applications must be submitted online by midnight Friday, Dec. 20, 2019.

Like many other medical diagnoses, taking care of a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s can result in unforeseen expenses. Knowing how you can best anticipate and plan for these expenses is the topic of a seminar being presented by the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at the Kaiser Permanente Stockton Medical Offices.

The presentation is entitled “Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease” and is open to both Kaiser Permanente members and non-members. There is no cost to attend.

Kaiser Permanente is partnering with St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton to provide skin cancer screening at no charge for people with limited access to health care services.

The screenings will take place Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the St. Joseph’s Cancer Institute at 1800 N. California Street in Stockton. While the screenings are being provided at no cost, appointments are necessary due to limited space.
