Walnut Creek Medical Center Parking Garage East Elevator Construction
Over the next several months, you’ll see a lot of construction activity in and around the Walnut Creek Medical Center as we work to improve access to our facility and the overall safety of our campus.
Beginning Monday, June 19, the Walnut Creek Medical Center east parking garage elevators will be closed for construction. The east elevators are getting a large scale upgrade that will increase the size, and improve the speed and functionality of the elevators for our members. We anticipate this construction to be completed by the end of December 2017.
Construction crews will be closing a small number of parking spaces on each floor to create safe walking paths for members to easily access the west elevators.
We understand this may cause some inconvenience. We’ve planned the work as much as possible to minimize the impact to our members, but in some cases, disruptions may occur.
Please allow extra time when coming to the campus for appointments or picking up prescriptions. For your convenience, you can also order prescriptions by mail or to be delivered to another Kaiser Permanente location of your choice. The toll free number for mail order refills is 1-888-218-6245.

Midwife Delivers 5,000th Baby
Diablo Area employee, Debbie Cox, is a 25-year veteran of midwifery who has watched some things change and others remain the same — such as the wonder of birth. Confetti didn’t rain from the ceiling when midwife Debbie Cox, CNM, delivered her 5,000th baby at KP Antioch Medical Center on Aug. 31.

Women unite to bring breast cancer license plate to California
Five breast cancer survivors are working tirelessly to get enough pink license plates pre-ordered for their release as a statewide fund-raiser. United by a disease so ravaging that each has undergone surgeries, chemotherapy, and continuing treatments, the quartet, along with friend and survivor Carla Kimball, have somehow found the strength to take on a mammoth cancer awareness project benefitting the public.

Being told you may have ovarian, cervical, or another type of gynecological cancer is scary. But when Diablo Service Area patients are referred to a specialist, they’re in particularly good hands – four of them, in fact. That’s because Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek has two of the Northern California region’s premiere specialists in gynecological oncology surgery, Dr. Elizabeth (Betty) Suh-Burgmann and Dr. Annette Chen.
