Jerome
Rev. Jerome A. Adeyemi
Board Certified Chaplain, East Bay Medical Centers
Jerome Adeyemi is an ordained minister in the Progressive Baptist Church denomination. He has earned his BA in Management from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, his Master of Divinity from the American Baptist Seminary of the West and completed his Clinical Pastoral Education at San Francisco Theological Seminary and Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Medical Center. He is board certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains. Jerome is also a certified First Steps Life Care Planning and grief support group facilitator.

 

Terry
Rev. Terrence Dwyer, MDIV, BCC
After a career in business Terry discerned a call into chaplain ministry. He earned his MDIV from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2012 and completed a chaplain internship at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. Terry completed his clinical pastoral residency at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in 2014 and has served as a staff chaplain at California Pacific Medical Center where he was responsible for spiritual care for the psychiatric, transplant, and cardiology units. Terry has also served as a spiritual care counselor for Silverado Hospice specializing in hospice care for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients and their families. Terry has been with Kaiser Permanente in Oakland Since February 2015.

 

Chaya
Rabbi Chaya Gusfield
Board Certified Chaplain, APC
(Association of Professional Chaplains)

Rabbi Chaya Gusfield is a Palliative Care and Acute Care Chaplain for Kaiser Permanente serving Oakland and Richmond Medical Centers. Following a career as a public interest lawyer and mediator, she was ordained as a rabbi in 2006 through the Jewish Renewal Movement and served several local congregations and a congregation in Canada before choosing hospital chaplaincy as her primary vocation. Trained at the Mercy Center’s Spiritual Direction Institute in Burlingame, she has served individuals and groups as a Spiritual Director since 2001. Before coming to Kaiser, she was the Jewish Chaplain for Alta Bates Sutter Medical Center. She is passionate about serving people of all spiritual traditions and those whose traditions are not clearly defined.

 

Winford
Rev. Winford Horsley
Winford Horsley is a Minister per diem Chaplain at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from California State Polytechnic University, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, and a Master’s Degree in Divinity from the Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley, California. Rev. Horsley also completed a full year of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center’s Chaplaincy Residency Program.

 

Michael
Rev. Michael Lemaire, M-Div, BCC
Michael Lemaire is an Episcopal Priest in the Diocese of California and serves as the Palliative Care Chaplain at Kaiser Permanente East Bay with the Adult Palliative Care Team. He attended Hamilton College and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. He received his Master of Divinity Degree at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley and a Certificate of Anglican Studies at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific. He has trained and worked as a professional spiritual caregiver at California Pacific Medical Center, Visiting Nurses Association Hospice, Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, Seton Hospital, Sequoia Hospital, and On Lok Lifeways. He is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains and serves as a priest associate at All Souls Parish in Berkeley.

 

Lindsey
Rev. Lindsey Reed
Lindsey Reed earned her Master in Divinity and Master in Biblical Languages from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA. She completed her Clinical Pastoral Education residency at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and is an ordained minister with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Prior to her work at Kaiser Permanente East Bay, Lindsey served as a chaplain for Pathways Hospice, where she provided support to both and adult and pediatric hospice patients. At Kaiser Oakland, Lindsey serves as both an acute care chaplain and pediatric palliative care chaplain. She is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains.
