In the Community
Caring for our Community
For more than 70 years, Kaiser Permanente has had the same mission: to provide high-quality, affordable health care services and to improve the health of our members and our communities. We’ve always known that good health goes beyond health care.
We believe healthy individuals need healthy communities to thrive, and healthy communities need healthy people.
We have a broad approach to improving the health and well-being of our communities that go beyond our grants and sponsorships. We recognize the impacts of social determinants like education, safe neighborhoods, food access, support systems, and employment on the health of our communities. We seek to make “upstream” investments in schools, neighborhood parks, local clinics, and a wide range of community-based organizations to improve “downstream” health outcomes.
Here in the Sacramento and Roseville areas, we have identified four critical health needs where we focus our efforts:

Our focus areas of need were identified through a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), which we conduct every three years in partnership with other healthcare providers in the region. Read the latest CHNA reports for Roseville, Sacramento, and South Sacramento here.
Grant Process
We require all interested applicants to fill out a Letter of Intent to be added to the announcement list for future funding opportunities. Please send an email to SacramentoValley.Grant.CommunityBenefit@kp.org to receive Letter of Intent instructions. Current and prospective grantees will receive a direct email about grant cycle timelines from our Community Benefit Manager.
Community Event Sponsorships
Each year through our sponsorship process, Kaiser Permanente supports organizations and events that improve the health of the communities we serve and businesses that improve economic vitality, and community growth and development.
Kaiser Permanente Greater Sacramento offers two application periods. Requests must be submitted during these times to be considered for sponsorship. If you have multiple events during the calendar year, you are encouraged to submit one application in the first period.
