Actigraphy

Actigraphy is a device that may be useful in the assessment of certain cases of insomnia and circadian rhythm disorders.

The device resembles a wrist watch and is meant to be worn by the patient for a period of 1-2 weeks continuously. The actigraphy device can be worn to the shower and should not be removed if possible during the testing period.

The device should NOT be submerged under water for any period of time. So, if you plan to take a bath or go swimming, please remove the device for the duration of the activity and then reapply it as soon as possible afterwards.

sleep diary should also be completed during the actigraphy evaluation.
