Santa Ana Medical Offices Earns Silver Garfield Distinction Award

The Santa Ana Medical Offices earned Kaiser Permanente's Silver Garfield Distinction Award. Named for Kaiser Permanente co-founder, Dr. Sidney Garfield whose commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and affordability laid the foundation for Permanente Medicine, the Garfield Distinction was developed in 2018 to elevate care delivery and quality outcomes for medical offices' operations. The Garfield Distinction uses evidence-based performance criteria drawn from multiple national guidelines to define levels of operational excellence. Serving as a guide for continuous improvement, the criteria form the basis for defining and assessing operations.

2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Score Gives an "A" Grade

Kaiser Permanente Anaheim and Irvine Medical Centers, have again received an “A” grade from The Leapfrog Group in the Spring and Fall 2019 Hospital Safety Score for their dedication to patient safety. Kaiser Permanente Orange County has been recognized as "Straight A" hospitals for consistently receiving an "A" grade since the Hospital Safety Score first launched in 2012.

Magnet® Recognition

Kaiser Permanente Anaheim Medical Center joins Irvine Medical Center in receiving Magnet® Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The honor was bestowed on the Orange County facilities in recognition of its nursing professionalism, teamwork, and superior patient care.

Excellence in Health Care Recognition by the Integrated Healthcare Association

The Southern California Permanente Medical Group has been awarded the 2019 Excellence in Healthcare Award from the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) for top performance on clinical quality, patient experience, and cost measures. Physicians organizations must perform int he top 50% on clinical quality, patient experience and total cost of care. Orange County was one of six Kaiser Permanente service areas recognized for this distinction.

Practice Greenhealth Environmental Awards

In 2017, Practice Greenhealth, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to environmental sustainability in health care, recently awarded the Emerald Award to Kaiser Permanente Anaheim Medical Center, for having more advanced programs and exemplary scores in a range of categories. In addition, Kaiser Permanente Irvine Medical Center was honored with the Partner for Change designation.

Women's Choice Award for Obstretrics

Our Anaheim and Irvine hospitals have been named as 2017 America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics by WomenCertified Inc. This evidence-based designation is the only award that identifies the country’s best healthcare institutions based on robust criteria that consider female patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, and what women say they want from a hospital.

Healthgrades 2018 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence

Kaiser Permanente Orange County hospitals were rated in the top 5% of the nation with the lowest risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates across at least 21 of 32 common conditions and procedures. Patients treated in hospitals receiving the Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence Award have, on average, a lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the designation.

The Leapfrog Top Hospitals

Kaiser Permanente Orange County Anaheim Medical Center has been named a "Top Hospital" by the Leapfrog Group. To make the list, facilities must deliver the highest quality care by preventing medication errors, maintain proper intensive care unit staffing with physicians trained in critical care medicine, and achieve overall high safety scores.

The Joint Commission Top Performers on Key Quality Measures

Kaiser Permanente Orange County Anaheim and Irvine Hospitals have been named Top Performers on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission for the past two years. Top Performers are recognized for exemplary performance in using evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical care.
