Home Blood Glucose Monitoring

Learn the proper way to monitor your glucose at home.   This workshop focuses on the equipment, it’s use and maintenance and how to record the glucose results.  Be sure to bring your glucometer and all equipment with you to class.   Available in Spanish in the Lo Basico class or with a Clinical Health Educator and an Interpreter

Insulin  Start and Patient Self-Adjustment

Learn all you need to know about insulin, including the different types, time of action, equipment care, and hints to make using it easy.  We’ll also discuss how to make adjustments to help you reach and maintain your blood glucose target goal. Open to Kaiser Permanente members only.  Office visit cost share applies.

Carb Counting

This advanced class teaches about identifying carbohydrate sources, label reading, portion size, and how to count carbs to help improve diabetes management.  If you take insulin before meals, this class will help you learn how to better control your blood sugar levels by matching carb intake to insulin administration.  Members only.  Open to the community.
