Why eye exams are important – protect your vision
Taking care of your vision can help you to connect with the people, places, and activities most important to you. We want to make sure that your vision is good, while at the same time checking to see that you do not develop any eye conditions which may affect your vision in the future, such as glaucoma.
Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that can cause blindness. Because glaucoma often has no symptoms, up to half of people who have it don’t know it. Luckily, if glaucoma is caught early, there is treatment to stop it from getting worse.
Regular eye exams can help prevent falls
Small changes in your vision can make you less stable. Regular eye exams and exercise are an important part of preventing falls. Reduce your risk of serious injury if you fall by keeping your eyes healthy and your body strong.
