ABOUT US
The Pediatric Chronic Pain Clinic (PCPC) is a multidisciplinary clinic (includes Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, and MD) designed to help teens with chronic pain learn skills to manage their symptoms with less dependence on medications and procedures. We want teens to increase their functionality, even when in pain, so they can re-integrate into school, sports, as well as social and family life. With these new skills, teens can learn to enjoy life again with the support of their families and PCPC team. If they experience a pain flare, they will have the skills to address the symptoms effectively. Teens will be taught to identify and counteract the thought and behavior patterns that can prolong a pain cycle. Teens can learn to regain control of their lives, instead of allowing pain to control them.
