Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco first opened its doors in 1949. Today, the 120-bed South San Francisco Medical Center employs more than 1,700 staff and has four medical campuses in three communities: South San Francisco, San Bruno, and Daly City.

We were recognized by The Joint Commission for sustained excellence in 2010, earning distinction as a “Top Performer on Key Quality Measures.” Our Cancer Treatment Center at Oyster Point provides highly specialized care. Members with particularly complicated cases are referred from Kaiser Permanente hospitals across the Northern California region. The center offers breakthrough treatments like stereotactic radiosurgery—a new single-session method of treating tumors in the brain, lungs, and upper abdomen with a focused beam of high-dose radiation.

In addition to participating in many local outreach events, the facility hosts a weekly farmers’ market from April through September at the entrance to the main hospital.
