The mission of Santa Clara Medical Center Stroke Program is to provide high quality stroke care for our community. We focus on stroke prevention, acute treatment and rehabilitation using evidenced-based medicine. Our success comes from our team of dedicated healthcare professionals, patients and their families working together.

- ACT F.A.S.T. (Stroke is an Emergency. Every minute counts.)
- Face (Does one side of the face Drop? Ask the person to smile.)
- Arms (Is one arm weak or numb? Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?)
- Speech (Is speech slurred? Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence. Is the sentence repeated correctly?)
- Time (If the person shows any of theses symptoms, Call 911 or get to the hospital immediately.)
