About us
Our Mission is to care for our members and families with Cystic Fibrosis, promote wellness, and, ultimately, help our members thrive by providing exemplary multidisciplinary care in a family centered environment. We accomplish this by educating patients and families, empowering them to be independent, fostering normal growth and development, and slowing the progression of disease.
Our History
The Kaiser Permanente Southern California Cystic Fibrosis Center was established in 1992 to provide specialized care to its members who have Cystic Fibrosis. Same year, it was recognized by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) as an affiliate center. In 2016, the CFF recognized the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Cystic Fibrosis Center as a Core Center.
CF center was initially located at Kaiser Permanente (KP) Panorama City Hospital and was staffed by Drs. Allan Lieberthal and Robert Allison. Until 2007 pediatric and adult patients were seen in the same clinic. Beginning in 2007 a separate adult center was established. Due to significant growth, CF Center outgrew the facilities and resources available at KP Panorama City, and was moved to the current location at Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) in July 2009.
