My Background
Education & Experience
I received my bachelor’s degree in biology in 1998 from the University of San Diego, and then worked in the biotech field as a lab assistant for a few years. Realizing that I would much rather work with people than petri dishes, I moved to Colorado to obtain my master’s degree in genetic counseling from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2005.
I was lucky enough to find employment with Kaiser Permanente right away after graduation, and spent ten years in the San Fernando Valley caring for prenatal, pediatric, and cancer patients. In 2016, I was given the opportunity to transfer to the Kaiser Permanente San Diego service area.
I am a board-certified genetic counselor, with a license in the State of California.
About My Practice
I work primarily with pediatric cases. In the pediatrics clinic, I work with Dr. Mark Nunes, our geneticist, to care for children (and adults) who have a variety of genetic disorders. One of my greatest pleasures is getting to know these fabulous children and their families as they grow. Working with pediatric cases also allows me to learn something new every day! Working with a wonderful team of colleagues, I firmly believe in providing the best service we can, with integrated and comprehensive care, to all Kaiser Permanente patients.
How I Thrive
I like to thrive with my family by spending time outdoors, especially hiking and biking. I also love to cook and am always trying to find healthy recipes that are also delicious.
