Our Genetic Counselors
Jessica Fallon, MS, LCGC
My Background
I was born and raised in the suburbs of San Diego, California. I first learned about genetic counseling as a career during the genetics unit in my high school biology class.
Education & Experience
I attended the University of California, Los Angeles where I attained a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Society. There was a very active Genetic Counseling Student Interest Group on campus through which I had the opportunity to meet practicing genetic counselors, observe case conferences at the UCLA Medical Center, and volunteer in their offices. I went on to earn my Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Boston University where I worked at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a Genetic Counseling Assistant and received my clinical training at Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Lahey Health, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
About My Practice
I began my career at Kaiser as a genetic counselor primarily in high-risk prenatal genetics and cancer genetics, assisting with screening and diagnosis of genetic conditions in pregnancy and assessing risk for hereditary predispositions to various cancers in individuals with personal and family histories. I now additionally work with patients in pediatric and adult genetics, evaluating and following patients with rare genetic conditions, providing these families with support and resources, and assisting in their continuity of care. Here at Kaiser, we work as an interdisciplinary team with other genetic counselors, geneticists, and providers in other departments, supporting each other in our mutual goal to provide patients with best possible care.
How I Thrive
Outside of my time with patients at Kaiser, I enjoy taking walks and bike rides, exploring local historical features and restaurants, spending time with animals, flute playing, swimming, and travelling to visit my less-local friends and family.
