Register for secure access to kp.org
Once your coverage begins, set up your account at kp.org/registernow so you can privately and securely email your doctor’s office with routine questions, order prescription refills, view most lab results, and more, from your computer or mobile device, day or night. Have your Kaiser Permanente identification card handy.

Choose your doctor at 888-956-1616

High-quality, personalized care starts with building a good relationship with your doctor. Find a doctor whose experience, gender, or spoken language matches your needs. Review our doctors’ profiles at kp.org/chooseyourdoctor to make your selection or call 888-956-1616 (dial 711 for TTY), weekdays from 7am to 7pm. A personal physician may have been courtesy assigned to you, but you may change it at any time for any reason. At your visit, your doctor may suggest some important preventive health screenings, like blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and test for certain cancers. Be sure to discuss any special health needs and if certain conditions run in your family. This data will be entered into your electronic health record, which will help us personalize your care.

Transfer your prescriptions

Make it easy to obtain the medications you need by transferring your prescriptions. Simply give us a call at 888-956-1616 (dial 711 for TTY), weekdays from 7am to 7pm. Have your current pharmacy and prescription information ready.

Make your first appointment

Schedule an appointment with your doctor’s office or talk to an advice nurse on the phone. We’re always here when you need us — in person, online, or by phone. Prior to your first appointment, complete the Patient Information Questionnaire (English/Spanish) and submit it.

Enrolling your newborn in your health plan

Congratulations on your new arrival! The first month with a newborn is exciting, and hectic. To give you time to adapt, all Kaiser Permanente babies are covered for 30 days from the date of birth.
Before the month is over, support your little one by enrolling them in your health plan. (Tip: find your baby’s Kaiser Permanente medical record number in the folder you received at the hospital and make note if it for later use in the enrollment process.)
Follow these steps to enroll your newborn:

1. Sign in to your kp.org account. Click on My profile.
2. Choose Act for a family member from the left-hand menu.
3. Choose “child” from the drop-down menu, next to People you’re taking care of.
4. Enter your child’s information and click continue.
5. Confirm that you’re the child’s parent or guardian, request authorization of their medical information, and click continue.

You’re all done. You’ll see the change reflected on your kp.org member page. We wish you and your baby a healthy future!
