Healthy lifestyle
Having a healthy lifestyle can help reduce symptoms and lower your risk of serious health conditions, like breast cancer, heart disease, and osteoporosis (thinning bones).
- Eat well
- Choose a heart-healthy diet that is low in saturated fat
- Enjoy plenty of fish, fruits, vegetables, beans, and high-fiber grains and breads
- Get ample amounts of calcium by eating low-fat or nonfat dairy products
- Get your Vitamin D by eating fatty fish such as tuna, salmon and mackerel
- Get regular exercise
- Limit caffeine, alcohol, and stress
- If you smoke, stop. This can help to decrease hot flashes and other health risks.
- Give breathing exercises and yoga a try
