As a member of Kaiser Permanente in Georgia, you have options to help you get your prescription medicine in a way that’s convenient for you.

Order refills online

Using “My health manager” on kp.org, you can refill your prescriptions online. This option lets you order your refills from your computer or smartphone. You’ll receive your medicine either at home or at the Kaiser Permanente pharmacy of your choice.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for our members to get the medications they need,” says Gary Beals, the Georgia Region’s director of pharmacy. “And we want to keep reminding members that the online option is a great way to respect their time and health.”

When you need to go to the pharmacy

Sometimes a trip to the pharmacy is necessary. Examples can include getting a new prescription filled for the first time. Try these tips to help make the process as smooth as possible:

  • Make sure your order is ready before you pick it up by calling your Kaiser Permanente pharmacy ahead of time.
  • Try to pick up your medicine in the morning, when pharmacies tend to be less busy.
  • Get to know your pharmacist, so they can learn about you and your unique health care needs.
  • Understand what happens behind the scenes. Pharmacists take special care to make sure your prescription fits your unique health care needs. If an order seems to take a while, the pharmacist is likely reviewing your allergies, proper dosing, possible drug interactions, and other key information to keep you safe.

If you ever have questions about your order, or the medicine itself, don’t hesitate to talk things through with your pharmacist. With a little extra understanding, you’ll help your pharmacist provide service that’s as quick and safe as possible.
