Along with the care you get from your doctor, you can take care of your health needs with classes, programs, and other support for Kaiser Permanente Medicaid members. To learn more, check out the Member Handbook.

Lifestyle programs and classes*

Diabetes care

Choose from in-person classes and online programs to learn about diabetes and how you can help prevent or manage it. Also, get exercise and healthy eating tips to help you control your blood sugar level.

Pregnancy and
new baby care

From your first months of pregnancy to your last, prepare mentally and physically for the changes ahead with in-person classes. Learn what to expect during pregnancy, labor, and delivery — and how to care for your newborn with good breastfeeding techniques and more.

Quitting tobacco

Ready to quit smoking? Get support and guidance through your choice of in-person classes, one-on-one coaching by phone, or online programs that will help you develop a customized quit plan to help you reach your goal.

Asthma care

Breathe easier with online programs — which offer action plans, help on how to measure your asthma, and tips on how to make exercise easier.

Get care assistance from a case manager

If you need help managing care for you or a family member, you may be able to work with a case manager. We can help you manage appointments and care, learn about a new diagnosis, and more.

 

To request a case manager, call us at 301-321-5126301-321-5126* or 1-866-223-23471-866-223-2347*, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed holidays). Leave a message including your name, health/medical record number (found on your Kaiser Permanente ID card), phone number, and what kind of help you need. You’ll get a call back within 3 to 7 days.

Get a cell phone at no cost from Safelink Wireless®

You may qualify for a cell phone with 350 minutes per month, unlimited text messages, and calls to Kaiser Permanente and 911 — all at no cost to you. You’ll also get text messages with health tips and appointment reminders.

 

You have 3 ways to enroll:

  • Visit safelink.com to apply online.
  • Call Member Services at 1-855-249-50191-855-249-5019 for an application by mail (no postage necessary), or complete the application and we’ll mail it back.
  • Call SafeLink at 1-877-631-25501-877-631-2550.

 

Get rides to your doctor visits at no cost

If you need a ride to a doctor visit, your local county health department may be able to help you. Be sure to request your ride at least one week before your scheduled appointment. If you can’t get a ride through the health department, please call 301-321-5126301-321-5126* or 1-866-223-23471-866-223-2347*, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed holidays). You’ll get a call back within 3 to 7 days.
