The Department of Anesthesiology includes physicians (anesthesiologists), nurse anesthetists, and anesthesia technicians working very closely together as an Anesthesia Care Team. We consider it a great privilege to take care of you at this important time and will use a wide variety of state-of-the-art techniques to ensure a safe and comfortable surgical experience.
Prior to surgery we will evaluate you carefully and make a recommendation regarding what type of anesthetic would be best for you given your health history and type of surgery. Please feel free to ask questions about the anesthetic and postoperative pain control options available.
During surgery we will provide anesthetic care that precisely meets your needs by administering anesthetic agents by various routes in amounts that are based on close monitoring of your vital functions and responses to surgery.
