In the dermatology department we take care of patients medical problems involving the skin, hair, and nails. We are also experts in the use of cosmetic skin treatments such as Botox, Restylane, laser procedures for the skin, leg vein treatment, and chemical peels. We perform surgery to remove skin cancer and non-cancerous growths.
In Santa Rosa, the dermatology department works together as a team with physicians, nursing, medical assistants and our patient service representatives to give you the best care possible. Our goal is to have your visit to our department be the best doctors’ office visit you’ve ever had. We are leaders in the region for developing innovative strategies to best meet the needs of health plan members.
Our primary care providers take care of more than three-quarters of all skin diseases that are diagnosed here at the Santa Rosa Medical Center without referring them to dermatology. Because our primary care providers are so skilled at taking care of these problems, and in order to maintain access to dermatology for those who need it the most, we ask that all patients see their primary care providers for any new skin problems. If the doctor has any questions about the diagnosis or treatment, they will refer you to the dermatology department. Because we work closely with our facility primary care providers, we are able to see more than 90% of patients referred to us within 2 weeks, often on the same day.
