San Diego Medical Center and Zion Medical Center receive Get with the Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award
San Diego Medical Center and Zion Medical Center have received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With the Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospitals’ commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.
Maternity Care at Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center Ranks Among the Best in the Nation
Newsweek’s “Best Maternity Care Hospitals 2020” Report Recognizes Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center for Exceptional Care to Mothers, Babies and Families. The elite designation,
awarded to only 231 hospitals in the United States, identifies leading maternity care programs based on rigorous quality and safety standards. Kaiser Permanente hospitals represent nearly 10% of those named to the prestigious list nationwide – and 44.4% of those listed in California.
Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center and Zion Medical Center Receive 'A' for Spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade
Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Zion Medical Center were awarded an ‘A’ in the spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing our Medical Centers’ achievements providing safer health care. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Safety Grade is a letter grade assigned to all general hospitals across the country and updated every six months, assessing how well the hospital prevents medical errors and other harms to patients.
Kaiser Permanente Hospitals Receive High Patient Safety Grades
Ten Kaiser Permanente hospitals in Southern California have received prestigious “A” grades for excellence in patient safety from The Leapfrog Group, which released these ratings as part of its fall 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade report. Approximately only 1 in 3 hospitals both in California and the U.S. received “A” grades.
The 10 Kaiser Permanente hospitals that received Leapfrog’s “A” rating in Southern California are located in: Anaheim, Baldwin Park, Downey, Fontana, Irvine, Ontario, Panorama City, Riverside, San Diego and South Bay.
Kaiser Permanente San Diego Earns Double LEED Platinum Certification
The Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center achieved LEED EBOM Platinum Certification in October 2019, making the facility the first double Platinum hospital listed on the US Green Building Council’s certified project directory.
